For the health and safety of our patients, physicians, and staff, and in accordance with recent guidelines from the State of California, the following visitation restrictions will be implemented, effective immediately:
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to protect our patients and staff and to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus and COVID-19 in our communities.
The visiting hours will normally be from 11am to 8pm. After 8pm all visitors must check in with security and obtain a pass.
Patients will normally be allowed two (2) visitors at one time.
Visitation by children under the age of 14 will require special permission and screening for communicable diseases.
In specialty units visiting hours may differ. In the OR and Post Anesthesia Care Unit, visiting is not permitted.
Exceptions to visiting policy will be individualized by the charge nurse, or the nurse assigned to the patient's care, based on the requirements of individual patients.
Minor Visitors: Minors visiting in the units must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The primary responsibility for caring for minors rests with their parents.
Visitors may be asked to leave at the discretion of the staff.
Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center adopts the following definition of “family” for purposes of hospital-wide visitation policy: “Family” means any person(s) who plays a significant role in an individual’s life. This may include a person(s) not legally related to the individual. Members of “family” include spouses, domestic partners, and both different-sex and same-sex significant others. “Family” includes a minor patient’s parents, regardless of the gender of either parent. Solely for purposes of visitation policy, the concept of parenthood is to be liberally construed without limitation as encompassing legal parents, foster parents, same-sex parent, step-parents, those serving in loco parent's, and other persons operating in caretaker roles.
Visitation will not be prohibited or restricted solely based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
